oneworld makes global travel easier for groups

25 luglio 2006

Groups can now use three of the oneworldTM  alliance's most popular fares, further enhancing the grouping's lead in its provision of alliance fare products.

The ticket types eligible for group travel are the round-the-world oneworld Explorer and the two Circle passes which enable passengers to fly to the other side of the world and back without actually circumnavigating the globe.

They can be used by parties of between ten and 30 passengers in Economy class or between ten and 15 in Business class. All three fares continue, of course, to be eligible for individual bookings too.

oneworld Explorer is one of the most attractive round-the-world fares available, with its pricing, uniquely, based on the number of continents visited, rather than the exact mileage flown. This makes planning trips much more easy and flexible.

oneworld Circle Fares make planning multi-sector, intercontinental journeys both easy and affordable. Two versions are available - for exploring the continents bordering the Pacific Ocean or seeing Africa in conjunction with two other oneworld continents.

All three of these fares feature flights on all the alliance's eight existing member airlines and their 12 affiliates, who serve more than 600 destinations in some 135 countries. This network will be expanded by almost another hundred destinations in 2007, when three more airlines join the group.

oneworld's members include some of the biggest and best in the industry, all renowned for the quality of their customer service - Aer Lingus, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, LAN and Qantas. Japan Airlines, Malév and Royal Jordanian will be joining in early 2007.

Because of the nature of these products, on-line bookings are not currently available.

About oneworld

oneworld brings together some of the best and biggest names in the airline business - American Airlines, British Airways, Qantas, Iberia, Cathay Pacific, LAN, Finnair and Aer Lingus, plus their dozen affiliates. Japan Airlines, Malév and Royal Jordanian will join them early next year.

The alliance enables its members to offer their customers more services and benefits than any airline can provide on its own. These include a broader route network, opportunities to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles and points across the combined oneworld network and more airport lounges. oneworld is the only alliance to enable passengers to fly throughout its network, on any combination of carriers, using just electronic tickets.

It is also the only alliance whose members reported collective profits in their latest full year.

Nota: LAN affiliates LAN Argentina and LAN Ecuador are not members of oneworld.
